Plant: FF1503 is a late season June-bearing selection, harvest typically starts about 5 days after Sonata. FF1503’s standout characteristics are an excellent taste combined with large, firm fruits and a good yield.

Characteristics: FF1503 has a good overall disease resistance. In 2016, FF1503 showed its worth during an extended period of rain, showing almost no signs of rain damage. In addition, FF1503 showed no frost damage and appears to be tolerant to moderate frosts.

Fruit: Fruit shape is conical, similar to that of Sonata. The strawberries are fairly large, especially at the start of the season. The colour is bright red with orange undertones. FF1503 has a standout taste: it combines a very high Brix level with a firm, juicy bite and a typical strawberry aroma.

Harvest: Our field trials in Germany and the Netherlands showed that FF1503 has a high production at the start of the season. The yield is good, at around 1kg per plant.
